"In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world" John 16:33

Some of Mrs. Longs favorite scriptures come from the book of Psalm. Psalm 119:11 "I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you" and Psalm 119:105 "Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path." Other favored scriptures include; Acts 26:20, Hebrews 10:25 and Phillipians 4:13. She enjoys the writings of St. Paul and Dr. Luke. Her preferred study Bibles are Charles Stanley's "Life Principles Bible" and "The Life Application Bible." When online, Teresa frequently visits and recommends www.Biblegateway.com and www.Biblehub.com.

Unintimidated by a life of missions, Teresa has served the Lord as a Deacon's wife prior to the Pastor's current ordainment. She completed a three year discipleship training program through the SBC and started a ministry for battered women in Monroe N.C. Her personal calling to carry the light has led her to darker places such as Union County Jail where she reached out to inmates needing the love of Christ.

Teresa McCumbee Long was born in sleepy Whiteville N.C. Her mother a textile factory worker and her father an insurance salesman, she was saved at the age of fifteen and graduated from Tabor City High School in 1969. The same year she married Kenneth Long and then attended Southeastern Community College in 1970. She is proud to say that the Lord has been good to her, sheltering her with a good Christian life. She is often seen passing the blessings on to others by countless hours of hard work in the church and the community. Both Teresa and Pastor Long are proud parents of two, their older son Ken attends Elah and their younger daughter Kelley attends church in Apex N.C.
